Heres an essential nugget in Jorge Bens expansive discography. Fra Bruta is an obvious misnomer, as the album recorded in 1970 with Trio Mocoto once again backing Ben is loaded with lush, mellow samba. The sunny title track and Pulo, Pulo are two standouts, with many of the other tracks sounding similar, but dont worry with Mocoto backing and Jorge on vocals, youll want more of the same, over and over and over also check out Oba, La Vem Ela, Domenica Domingava Num Domingo Linda Toda De Branco and O Telefone Tocou Novamente. Essential summer listening. Recommended.
