This is a cassette tape pressing of Chet Baker Sings. When this album was released, it was a revelation that brought Chet Baker new fame and attracted an audience more familiar with pop music than jazz. Both his iconic trumpet playing and his voice appear to be extensions of the same musical personality, and whilelisteners now expect to hear both facets, the album was groundbreaking at the time. The reason for its success is clear: Bakers voice is tender and beautiful, yet his phrasing consistently swings and surprises.
